Native to Burgundy and notoriously challenging to grow, the Pinot Noir grape has found a home away from home in New Zealand. The huge diversity in climates and soils enables a wide range of styles, which combine the Old World structure and elegance with the New World power and fruit-driven intensity. Due to the thinness of the skins, Pinot Noir wines are lighter in colour, body and tannins, but with complexity and intensity of fruit. This mature wine has a sensuous, silky mouthfeel with deep fruit flavours and gamey nuances emerging. This Pinot Noir has succulent cherry and red currant flavours seasoned with light spice.
