A potent and plush blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Chateau de Lamarque has been family-owned since the 11th century, and the vineyards were first established in 1453. This superb claret has a ripe, fleshy fruit centre with notes of mulberry and blackcurrant on the nose and the palate. Smooth cedar and vanilla oak flavours soften the sturdy tannic structure. A great wine to brighten up a cold evening – try with a warming shepherd’s pie.
